About

GUSH Entertainment or Get U Some Heat is an indie hip hop label launched in February 2007 by Demone "Horsebully" Ryans & Leon "DJ Lee-Tech" Small. The rapper/DJ duo, born and raised in Washington Heights, New York, came up in the late 90's with influences ranging from 70's soul to hip-hop to alternative rock. Their music had a Dela Soul meets Ice Cube/Wu-Tang with a little Tribe Called Snoop Dog energy. They cut their teeth performing locally in various open-mics and showcases in the city and created GUSH Entertainment to market and promote their music. "Get Bullied!" was Horsebully's debut release in 2009.

In 2011, GUSH was set to release "Follow Da Yellow Brick Road" the first in a series of mixtapes. It featured Lee-Tech's gritty, sample driven, boom bap production, Horsebully's clever punchlines, and two new comers to the label. First was 21yr old phenom GUSH Boy Giff from the Bronx. His sound was compared to that of Brooklyn’s Fabolous, with his metaphoric/punchline flow. Also new to join was Bob Wright The Floor General. He brought energy and fire to the stage and studio. Together as Dem GUSH Boyz they built a buzz while regularly performing in showcases like the late AD the General’s “The Elegant Hoodness Program” & the Bronx’s own Larue’s “Burn U Movement” tour with a stop that saw them rip the stage at Met Life Stadium. But, before the mixtapes were finished the team fell apart internally with creative differences, money/contract issues & the same negative energy that seems to break up even the most celebrated groups. The project ended up shelved, & the team went their separate ways.

Fast forward, April 2020, Covid -19, country wide shut downs. Horsebully, bored to death under quarantine, came across & listened to the whole catalog of Dem GUSH Boyz’ music. He had a Blues Brother’s “Get the band back together” moment & they decided to release THE QUARANTINE COLLECTION... 4 albums of unreleased music from Dem GUSH Boyz & Horsebully’s Remastered 2009 release “Get Bullied!”. They are AVAILABLE NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS!! The boyz have reconciled & are currently working on new music including tracks to support the Black Lives Matter Movement in light of the recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, & the countless other victims of systematic racial injustice.
